Ousmane Tunkara
Chief Executive Officer
Prior to joining Farafina in 2017, Mr. Tunkara has occupied senior positions with the World Food Programme and Sierra Leone Brewery. He holds degrees in business management from Gamal Abder Nasser University (Guinea) and accounting from the University of General Lansana Conte Sonfonia (Guinea).
Vasiiy Maltsev
Chief Operations Officer
Mr. Maltsev graduated with a Master’s Degree in physics from the Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He has been employed as Chief Operations Officer of Farafina since 2015, having worked prior to that in international trade and oil services.
Natalia Bariatska
Head of the Geology Department
Dr. Bariatska has worked as a senior geologist, manager of geological projects, head of the geological department and chief geologist of the company. She has substantial field experience at gold ore projects.
Dr. Bariatska has earned several post-graduate degrees in diverse subjects such as geoinformatics and geology of mineral deposits. She has a wealth of experience in block modeling of ore deposits and resource estimation; forecasting and prospecting, geological exploration, geological and economic evaluation of gold-polymetallic, lithium, rare-metal, uranium, titanium placer and primary deposits.
Viktor Bazhenov
Head of the Mining Department
Mr. Bazhenov earned a degree in Underground mining of mineral deposits / mining engineering from the Kazakh National Technical University
Mr. Bazhenov has more than 20 years of hands-on experience in underground mining of precious metals. Prior to joining Farafina, Mr. Bazhenov served as head of an underground mining site at a major mining enterprise in Russia – the Yuzhuralzoloto Group of Companies, with direct specialization in underground gold mining.
